An increase in the number of circulating granulocytes in the bloodstream.

Granulocytosis is a feature of certain bacterial infections, autoimmune disease, and leukemia. It may involve an increase in the number of granulocytes such as neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils in the blood.
Word origin: granulocyte + Greek –osis (an increase, a condition).
