Spermiation

A process in the final stage of spermatogenesis by Sertoli cells release the elongated, non-motile spermatids into the lumen of the seminiferous tubules.
Supplement
The released mature spermatids are transported to the epididymis with the aid of the testicular fluid secreted by the Sertoli cells. In the epididymis, the spermatids become motile spermatozoa.
