The interaction of biological structures or substances that produce an overall effect greater than the sum of individual effects of any of them

Synergism occurs when different entities working together and enhance the effect to an extent that cannot be produced singly. Synergism is used pharmacologically to enhance the efficacy of a set of drugs.
