(anatomy)
(1) The trunk of the animal body from where the head and the limbs extend.
(2) The animal body containing the abdomen, thorax and pelvis.
(genetics)
(1) The maternal-effect gene that codes for transmembrane receptor in the early development of Drosophila embryo.
(2) The receptor produced from the torso gene.
