The body cavity situated near the front of the human body, and consists of the thoracic cavity and abdominopelvic cavity.
Supplement
The ventral body cavity is made up of the superior thoracic cavity and the inferior abdominopelvic cavity. A diaphragm physically separates the two cavities. The ventral body cavity contains the various body organs called viscera.
